Institutional Membership
Archive CD Books USA is happy to offer substantial discounts to public
libraries and qualifying membership societies that serve the genealogical
community. The standard institutional discount is 33% off the retail
price. (Discounts as large as 50% are available under our Patron
Membership - see below). Shipping is also FREE on orders with a total
invoice value over $50.00.
An Institutional Membership is a great way for libraries/societies on
a limited budget to provide valuable research tools to their patrons/members.
You can choose from the entire inventory of the international Archive
CD Books Project, including thousands of CDs containing digital copies
of rare genealogy books, census records, parish records and other original
records, most of which support an every-word search. The original publications
and material are from the United States, England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland,
Canada, Australia, and other countries. Popular in-store promotions for
Savage's classic "Genealogical
Dictionary of The First Settlers of New England" (1860) and "Black's
Law Dictionary" (1st Edition, 1891), among others, can be combined
with the institutional discount for even more savings.
Note that the USA company is the most recent partner in the international
Archive CD Books Project. At this time, therefore, our inventory contains
fewer titles from the U.S than from other countries -- but we're growing
fast1!

project.
The Institutional Membership includes a network license with no
additional fees per computer and the license permits you to copy the
CD contents onto a network drive in order to facilitate multi-user access
across your local network. Your customers may also print individual pages
from the products (within the limits of your normal "personal use"
policy that protects copyright) and you may collect your normal photocopying
fees for those copies.
These additional conditions/exclusions apply:
- The material may NOT be made available online in any form (i.e.,
internet, web site, dialup, remote access, etc.). Patrons/members must be on the
library/society's physical premises in order to access the material.
- The discount is not to be used to purchase products for the personal
use of patrons/members.
- The material must not be allowed off the premises (e.g., on loan to
patrons) except to a permanent backup/storage facility.
- All conditions of the single-user license (prohibiting decompiling,
repackaging, etc.) still apply. A copy of that license is on the CD
itself.
- Products purchased with an institutional discount may not be resold.
Libraries/societies which operate a store may apply for a separate reseller
discount.
- Institutions that are located in Great Britain, Ireland, Canada, and
Australia do not qualify. Those institutions should please contact the
Archive CD Books partner company in your area:
Great Britain: web
site email
Ireland: web
site email
Canada: web

Australia: web

reflect your 33% discount.

society to one copy of every product in the extensive project inventory
at a bulk discount up to 50% off of the retail price. For more information
