In this very early gazetteer, the authors compiled an exhaustive description of Connecticut and Rhode Island as of 1819, including the topography, history, and statistics of each county, town, city, burrough, and village in the State. Of special interest to genealogists, the authors include frequent biographies of the town founders, early settlers, ministers, and other prominent citizens.
