This 19th-century atlas of Maine includes dozens of hand-painted maps that are reproduced here in high resolution. As indicated in the title, the atlas also contains many informative pages describing the history of Maine and its educational system, geology, railroads, natural resources, summer resorts, and manufacturing interests. It also includes these helpful features which may be of interest to researchers:
